Beer

Refreshing Golden Dry Pale Ale with a moderate bitterness, rich in colour balanced and full of flavour.  Unfined & Naturally Hazy.

Ferry Fair is inspired by the annual August week-long Queensferry Fair which is a historic celebration mentioned since the 12th Century during the reign of King David I. Celebrations included a market and fair.

Beer

Our 80/- traditional Scottish Ale is an easy drinker with aromas of malt, light hops & fruit to complement its smooth and creamy texture. Unfined & Naturally Hazy.

As industry and trade began to flourish in Queensferry in the 17th Century, merchants and ships skippers built a church in the High Street. Strict laws to attend church were established including prohibition on the sale of beer during the Sabbath. The penalty of forty shilling fine for committing this offence was levied on Margaret Moubray, Janet Lowrie and Helen Young, each, for brewing ale on the Sabbath.

Beer

A Reddish Copper Ale with a nicely hopped flavour creating a wonderfully well balanced Ale any aspiring witch would be proud of :-) Unfined & Naturally Hazy.

Brewers, in the 17th Century, were prohibited from selling beers on the Sabbath (church day) and years after being fined for such an offence, Margaret Moubray, Janet Lowrie and Helen Young were charged and convicted for ‘Witchcraft’.  Helen who was deemed to be too old was spared the punishment of being burned on the stake at Ferrymuir.

Beer

A dark Amber Ale with an aroma of caramel malt and a hint of lemon. Taste of caramel malts with a touch of toffee and soft citrus flavours leading to a light bitter finish.

Inspired by the over three hundred years old annual Ferry Fair Festival tradition where a local man dressed in thousands of locally grown burrs of Burdock walks throughout the Ferry to ward off evil spirits. We use the Burdock root as the bitter in our Ale.
